Printing Your Photos and How I Can Help
In our increasingly digital world, a physical print remains a powerful way to connect you with a moment. Over the last couple of months, I took the plunge and got some photos hung on bare walls in our house, and I can’t even tell you how much life it brings to our space. It’s so worth it and rewarding every time I see them! You can see some examples below.
However, I also can’t tell you how long it took me to do this. I, just like you, feel the daily challenge of getting everything done in the limited amount of time we have, as well as the mental stress of the tasks left undone. Things like printing photos from those digital files you have stored “on that one harddrive, somewhere, (I think)” get pushed off to a later date because other things need done more immediately, and it is daunting to think about the time that will go into getting the process completed.
To me, asking a photographer to come into your life should mean more than just hiring someone to snap photos and hand a slew of digital images over to you, jumpstarting a series of paralyzing decisions to be made about what you want to print, where to get things printed, what products make sense in your space, what size you need, etc. etc. etc.
Imagine this: You complete your session, and after a week or two your edited images are ready! YAY! At that point, you have one-on-one assistance (from me) to help you select and use your favorite images in whatever way fits your family best. Do you like to have some digitals to store for archival purposes? Great! Do you really want a gallery on the wall above your couch? No problem! Do you want an heirloom book for the kids and other family to look through on cozy winter days? Sweet! Each family is different and will use different things, and I’ll be there to help you figure that out. The items you choose are promptly ordered and will come directly to you as soon as they are ready. And then? You get to enjoy your custom pieces of art every day from that point forward, no lingering thoughts about if/what you should do with those files you have tucked away.
In my opinion, THAT’S the way you get the most out of your photo session and the way I, as the photographer, can serve you best. It’s about filling a need far greater than just completing a yearly photo session: It’s about leaving a piece of your family history within view, for everyone to see and bond over as the days and years go by and so many things change.
