I’m a mother, wife, sister, daughter, teacher, and artist. Mostly, I’m just a person who is trying to learn more and become better each day. I live in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio with my husband, three children, and small pup, Daisy.
I dove into the genre of photography at a difficult period of my life, one where I was especially struck by how quickly life can change and how little control I actually have. To this day, I believe in the power of documenting real, everyday moments and emotions, not only to process and reflect on the here and now, but also to build connections and create a piece of shared history from generation to generation.

I see all of those photos of families with coordinated clothes, perfect hair, ‘playing’ in a park they probably never go to, and sitting in not-exactly-natural poses. While those pictures are wonderful, they’re just not us. Devon captured us in our home and yard, complete with messy hair, kid-picked outfits, eating, laughing, occasionally whining, and definitely making a mess. And I treasure these photos because they are us — truly, truly us. As our kids grow up so fast, it’s the everyday moments I want to make sure I can picture perfectly in the years to come.
